Loki
Loki is now Luciano named for the famous gangster Lucky Luciano - saved at the last minute from Bakersfield Kern County as a senior, Luciano has a lot of tricks up his sleeve and not only works every day with mom at her salon but hikes and kayaks on their 7 acres! Check out Luciano's Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/lakesideloki Here's Loki Luciano's story as told by his mom, Marissa: When I lost my dog of 12.5 years, I was completely heartbroken. The house felt empty, and I wasn’t ready to commit to another dog, but I knew I needed something to help me through the loss. That’s when I came across Luciano’s story through the Reunion Rescue foster program. At 9 years old, he urgently needed a temporary home, and something about him immediately pulled at my heart. I agreed to foster Luciano sight unseen, not knowing if he would fit into my lifestyle. I split my time between a busy city life, where I work long hours at a salon, and a cabin in the woods where i spend my time hiking and paddle boarding. I wondered if an older rescue dog would be able to adapt to so much change. It turns out Luciano adapted better than I ever could have imagined. In the city, he became the perfect shop dog, greeting every client at the door and making everyone feel welcome. On my longest workdays, he goes to doggy daycare where he happily spends time with his many friends. And when we head back to the woods, he loves the long car rides and running around our 7-acre property with his three dog siblings. He is even great on the paddleboard! I had never considered adopting an older rescue before, but it didn’t take long for me to realize Luciano was already home. What started as fostering quickly became forever. He has been the most incredible addition to our family and is especially wonderful with our 4-year-old child. Luciano came into my life when I needed healing most, and somehow, by helping save him, he helped save me too.

Daisy
Daisy was Tawny at Kern County Animal Services. She went through a couple of bumps in the road till she found her perfect home where she goes to the beach every day! Read what mom Mer has to say and follow Daisy on her Facebook page:
Norm
Norm was Jasper at Kern County Animal Services in Bakersfield. A very kind person saw him posted on his last day and took him for a doggy day out. He got a spa and bath, some doggy ice cream and a lot of pets before being taken back to KCAS to be euthanized. I saw the video and texted the shelter to place a hold on him. Amazingly, his mom NIcol reached out to me on Nextdoor San Francisco and said she and partner Graham would foster. That was the beginning of a new life for a dog called Norm.
